Australia cricket team star Pat Cummins is all set to return to action in the AUS vs ENG 3rd Ashes Test in Adelaide. The Aussie captain has been on the sidelines for months now due a lumbar bone stress and had only began bowling recently, While he was nearly close to making his comeback in the pink-ball Test in Brisbane, the team decided not to rush him back, allowing his body to completely recover before he could return to action.
Pat Cummins injury update
Speaking to Fox Cricket during Day 3 of the 2nd Ashes Test, Cummins said that he should be alright for Adelaide, adding that his return was more or less confirmed unless there were any other hiccups on the way. The Aussie captain’s update comes as good news for Australia who are already without the services of Josh Hazlewood in the tournament. However, Cummins admitted that returning to action after a bone injury would be a challenge as he will be required to bowl for two straight days, something that he hasn’t done in training.
“First of all, yeah, I should be right for Adelaide. So, I’ll have one more bowl tomorrow (Sunday), and then we’ll go to Adelaide and have another bowl there. So, barring any hiccups, I’ll be good to go. Body feels great,” Cummins said.
In the absence of Cummins and Hazlewood, Australia’s pace department has fared well in the 1st two Ashes Tests, with Mitchell Starc spearheading the attack along with Brendan Doggett, Scott Boland and Michael Neser.
