After not being up to the mark for a few seasons, it seems like pacer Arjun Tendulkar is finding some rhythm in competitive cricket. Playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Goa, he has come up with yet another substantial performance, in the match against MP, where he returned with figures of 3/36, and also scored 16 valuable runs for his side.
In fact, such was his show, that he had only conceded five runs in 2 overs; his wicket also included — Venkatesh Iyer, who is an established batter in the IPL circuit. That helped Goa restrict MP to only 170. That meant, the team went on to win in the 19th over, with skipper Suyash Prabhudessai hitting an unbeaten 75 off 50 balls.
Arjun Tendulkar now has 6 wickets in four matches in SMAT 2025-26, where his economy has been under 8. With the bat, while opening, he has smashed 65 runs thus far.
Great News for LSG in IPL 2026
This could come in as a blessing for Lucknow Super Giants, ahead of IPL 2026 — where he was traded from MI, in a direct trade between Shardul Thakur and him. He could be used as a pinch hitter, and a bowler who takes wickets. As far his numbers in the IPL are concerned, he has picked up 3 wickets in five matches, but always found it hard to break into the playing XI.
LSG retained list: Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Abdul Samad, Himmat Singh, Matthew Breetzke, Digvesh Rathi, Avesh Khan, Akash Singh, Prince Yadav, M Siddharth, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Mohammad Shami (traded in), Arjun Tendulkar (traded in), Shahbaz Ahamad, Arshin Kulkarni, Ayush Badoni.
