It is also important to note, that Babar, Naseem and Rizwan were overlooked for selection in the Asia Cup 2025, under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha. As far as the SA series is concerned, after the two Tests, both teams will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The first Test will begin in Lahore on October 12, and the next one will happen in Rawalpindi from the 20th.
The series will also mark the start of Pakistan’s campaign in the ongoing WTC Test Championships cycle. Pakistan had last played a Test series against West Indies in Jan earlier this year, which ended in a poor 1-1 draw for them.
