Abhimanyu Easwaran was reportedly gutted after being ignored once again from India's playing XI in the IND vs ENG Test series

India cricket team star Abhimanyu Easwaran was reportedly pissed off after failing to find a place in India’s playing XI in the recently concluded IND vs ENG Test series. The West Bengal batter, who has nearly 8000 runs in first-class cricket to his name, is yet to make his Team India debut despite being named in the Test squad for multiple series. Easwaran’s father revealed that the batter was gutted on not finding a place in the XI in any of the five Tests.

Speaking to Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Abhimanyu’s father Ranganathan Parameshwaran Easwaran revealed that his son had told him that he was pissed off because he wasn’t picked in the team. The batter’s father revealed that the former was disturbed because of the snub but shook it off saying that he had lived his dream for 23 years and snubs in a couple of matches won’t affect him. Easwaran will now head to Bengaluru to prepare for the Duleep Trophy.

He was pissed off because he wasn’t picked. When I called him, he said, ‘Dad, I still haven’t found a place. He’ll fly to Bengaluru for Duleep Trophy prep, spend 10–12 days there, come back to Dehradun for a bit, then head back. He was disturbed, but he said, ‘I’ve lived my dream for 23 years, and not getting picked for one or two matches won’t shatter that.’,” Easwaran’s father said.

Easwaran failed to get a spot in India’s playing XI despite putting up impressive performances in India A tour that preceded the Test series. Earlier in December, the batter travelled with the Indian team to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but still couldn’t make his Test debut.

Abhimanyu’s father revealed that head coach Gautam Gambhir and the support staff had assured him that he would get his chance in the long run.

Gambhir told him, ‘You’re doing the right things. You’ll get your turn and a long run. I’m not the one to push you out after one or two matches.’ The entire coaching team assured him he’ll get his due,” Ranganathan said.
