We are just a few days away from the announcement of the IPL 2026 retentions for all teams, and it would worth looking at, what players does PBKS stick with, since the current bunch brought them immense success. The 2025 season was the first time that Punjab made it to the playoffs after nearly a decade, and all the credit goes to the management, for brining in players who could deliver for them.
So, now Insidesport takes a look at the batters that PBKS should retain ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.
Batters PBKS should retain ahead of IPL Auction 2026
Shreyas Iyer: He is the captain of the side and scored over 600 runs in tournament. Without any iota of doubt, he stays; more importantly, they should learn from the mistake, that KKR made before the 2025 season. Perhaps he can take them to the final in IPL 2026.
Nehal Wadhera: He had his best IPL year in 2025, where he scored over 300 runs in 16 matches, including two fifties, and a strike-rate of 145. He would surely get an extended run with the team.
Prabhsimran Singh: He has spent seven years with the team, and is one of their batting mainstays now. He too had an excellent run where he scored 549 runs and slammed four fifties.
Josh Inglis: He wasn’t a regular in the side, played 11 matches, but did enough to get another run with the Punjab franchise. He went on to score 278 runs and even hit a fifty. More importantly, his strike-rate was over 160, that helped the team.
Full list of PBKS batters: Shashank Singh, Shreyas Iyer, Nehal Wadhera, Harnoor Pannu, Musheer Khan, Pyla Avinash, Prabhsimran Singh, Vishnu Vinod, Josh Inglis.
