Lucknow Super Giants will be eyeing to lift their maiden IPL trophy this season. Even since their formation, LSG has gone on to feature in two IPL playoffs, but the coveted final has always eluded them. But now after the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the Lucknow outfits have a strong chance to lift the title, this time with their star player Rishabh Pant.
LSG had a massive fallout with former captain KL Rahul, such that he wasn’t retained on IPL 2025 Retention Day. LSG went on to break the bank for Rishabh Pant, buying him for the record price of 27 crores. He along with Nicholas Pooran and Avesh Khan will be crucial for the team’s success in IPL 2025.
Rishabh Pant
- Role: Wicketkeeper-Batter
- Auction Price: ₹27 crore (record-breaking)
Lucknow Super Giants made it clear that they would go all out for the former Delhi Capitals captain. Come the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, LSG spilled a huge cash of 27 crores making Rishabh Pant the highest price player in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Now the acquisition of Pant is great for LSG. Not only will be the captain, but his aggressive batting style makes him one of the best finishers in the game. Pant has the ability to turn matches on his own and would thus play a pivotal role in LSG’s success in the coming years.
Nicholas Pooran
- Role: Batter
- Retention Price: ₹21 crore
West Indies star Nicholas Pooran was retained by LSG on IPL 2025 Retention Day. The team retained his services for a staggering price of 21 crores. Nooran is another hard hitter who will complement Pant down the order and will play a crucial part in the team’s success.
The power hitter boasts of having a very good average of 62.38 coupled with a high strike rate of 178 making him one of the best in the business. With his experience and game-changing ability, Pooran will be a huge asset to the team.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan can take wickets in regular intervals and in both during the powerplays and death overs. All these things make Avesh Khan a very important player in the team.
