Career Brief
Cricket made an entry into Richa Ghosh’s life when she was just four thanks to her father Manabendra. After taking inspiration from local hero and later India legend Jhulan Goswami’s career, Richa ventured into cricket and even before her teens arrived, became a powerful name in Bengal women’s cricket circuit. When she was only 16, she was named in the Indian women’s T20 squad for the 2020 T20 World Cup, as a wicket-keeper batter.

Richa Ghosh is living her father’s dream, who was also a good cricketer but could never make it to the top level. She played for Bengal U19 when she was only 12 and played for the U23 squad in the same season. She possesses a fearless approach while batting against fast bowlers and spinners and is more than a handy wicketkeeper behind the stumps. Since making her India debut, she has been a constant feature in the national XI. She credits Wriddhimann Saha and Jhulan Goswami for helping her out in her career. However, Richa Ghosh’s cricketing idol is Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
