Satya Prakash Sangwan, the vice-president of PCI, has been named the chef de mission of the Indian contingent for the Paris Paralympics. The announcement has come after Bhagyashree Jadhav and Sumit Antil were named the flag-bearers for the opening ceremony, for a contingent of 84 athletes.
“It is a great honour to be entrusted with this responsibility. I am committed to ensuring that our athletes have everything they need to succeed and make India proud at the Paralympics,” Sangwan told the media after the announcement.

“Mr. Satya Prakash Sangwan has been an integral part of the Paralympic Committee of India for over a decade. His dedication and leadership have always been an inspiration to our athletes. We are confident that under his guidance as Chef de Mission, our team will achieve great success at the Paris Paralympics 2024,” PCI President Devendra Jhajharia said.

India PM Modi had also extended his best wishes to the Paralympians. Meanwhile, India had won 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, and would like to better that record. There is also three more sports that the Indian athletes would be taking part in. Last time around, we had five gold medals, eight silvers and six bronze medals. Along with that javelin thrower Sumit Antil had bettered his world record as well.
