‘CM Punk Is Dead’- 44 Yr Old’s Former IG Post Make Fans Emotional After His AEW Exit

After a suspension for the All In London scuffle with Jack Perry, 44-year-old CM Punk has been terminated by AEW

All Elite Wrestling [AEW] has terminated CM Punk officially. The pro-wrestling promotion announced the split up on social media and explained the whole situation.

Meanwhile, an old social media post of CM Punk seems to have found relevance right now. Per Instagram’s algorithm, Punk posted a picture of himself 77 weeks ago where he cited his persona to be ‘dead’.

The 44-year-old superstar wrote, “CM Punk is dead. Long live CM Punk.”

Wrestling fans began pouring comments on the post right after AEW fired CM Punk. Here’s a look at a few reactions of the fans.

CM Punk was the AEW Real World’s Champion,  a status which he defended against Samoa Joe at the All In London event in Wembley Arena. It appeared to be a successful night for Punk and AEW. However, the former WWE star got into an altercation with Jack Perry in backstage which resulted in AEW suspending both the wrestlers.

AEW declared conducting an investigation. They concluded by explaining the whole scenario in a lengthy tweet.

Here’s what AEW reported: “All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has terminated the wrestler and employment agreements between Phillip Brooks (CM Punk) and AEW with cause, effective immediately. The termination was confirmed today by Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW.”

“The termination follows a weeklong internal investigation of an incident occurring back stage at AEW — All In London on Sunday, August 27. Following the investigation, the AEW Discipline Committee met and later convened with outside legal counsel before making a unanimous recommendation to Khan that CM Punk be terminated with cause.”

What’s Next For CM Punk?

44-year-old CM Punk is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the world. He has had a successful tenure in WWE, where he held the world championship on several occasions. He earned a global fanbase during that period.

That said, he had a disastrous transition from pro wrestling to the MMA world. Punk miserably failed and got finished in both the UFC fights he ever competed in before getting cut off from the roster. He returned to pro-wrestling by joining hands with AEW and once again became a title holder.

On his last appearance in All Out (London), Punk successfully defended his Real World’s Championship against Samoa Joe. But what happened afterward didn’t turn out well for his career with AEW
