Dubai Open: Rohan Bopanna loses in first event after AO title, Yuki Bhambri advances to SF

Bopanna had taken nearly a month's rest and managed to win just one match at the Dubai Open 2024. Meanwhile, Bhambri has reached the semifinals after qualifying.

World No. 1 Rohan Bopanna has suffered defeat in his first event after winning his maiden Grand Slam title. Fresh from his title run at the Australian Open 2024, Bopanna, along with partner Matt Ebden, has been handed a three-set (6-3, 3-6, 8-10) defeat by Adam Pavlásek and Behar in the Dubai Open 2024 quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Yuki Bhambri has reached the semifinals at the Dubai Open with partner Robin Haase. Bhambri has entered the semifinals after beating Michael Venus and Jamie Murray in straight sets [6-4, 7-6(1)]. The unranked Indian has reached the semifinals after coming from qualifiers.

Bhambri, who is on a 4-match win streak, will face number two seeds Austin Krajicek and Ivan Dodig. Having already made his first-ever ATP 500 doubles semifinal, the 31-year-old will now target his first-ever Final and a potential title.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna will target to defend his Indian Wells title. The 43-year-old had become the oldest player to win a Masters 1000 last year in California with Ebden. Bopanna will now target winning his sixth Masters title and will hope to continue his reign as World No. 1.
