After losing in their first match against hosts Spain, Indian Hockey team made a good comeback in their second match against Netherlands. They held on the World No.1 team to a 1-1 draw. India now need a victory in their final league game against England in order to stand a chance top reach the final.
India’s skipper Harmanpreet Singh is the only goal-scorer so far for the side. He desperately wants his attackers to fire in the upcoming clash.
England meanwhile have been in good form in the tournament. They drew their first match against Netherlands 1-1 after a late equaliser from Sam Ward. In their second match against Spain Sam Ward yet again found the net while Nick Bandurak scored a brace as the World No.3 side defeated hosts Spain.
India and England played recently at the FIH Pro League in 2022-23. Bot the matches were high-scoring. England won the first game 4-2. Both the teams then played out a 4-4 draw by the end of full-time and India later won the contest on penalties.
