FIFA WC USA TEAM: A team that has been on the rise for a couple of years on the international stage, USA will be eyeing a strong outing this time around in Qatar. In the last edition of the World Cup, they missed making the final cut and would be rueing the missed chance to play in Russia.
Nevertheless, they have put those demons behind them and will be in Qatar with a new and fresh mindset, looking to give it their all.
FIFA WC USA SQUAD: They are led by Gregg Berhalter, who has been with them since 2018. They have tasted success under his rule as they won the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup which was also the 7th Gold Cup in their history. Safe to say, that he has a team that has the quality to win tournaments, but obviously, the World Cup is a different gravy altogether.
They finished 3rd with 25 points in their World Cup Qualifying campaign and would have been looking at the top spot, but overall they did enough to book their ticket to Qatar. Gregg has been under some scrutiny, so if they fail to make it out of the group stage this time around, it might be curtains on his stint as the manager of the USA team.
USA TEAM NEWS: Christian Pulisic will be the main focus of their attack as the Chelsea FC striker has been their main man for some time now. Even though his current season with the Blues has not been a season to cherish as he had a hard time with Tuchel, he is slowly getting more game time with Graham Potter.
Even though Juventus has been horrendous in the League and UCL, Weston McKennie is another player who will have a lot of eyeballs on him. He will be hoping that his World Cup team perform better than his club team.
USA Team INJURY LIST: Defender, Miles Robinson, will certainly be missing the World Cup due to an Achilles’ injury. Apart from this, no other notable absentees so far for USA.
FIFA WC USA GROUP NEWS: USA are placed in Group-B of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will be together with England, Wales, and Iran. Quite some feisty games in this group and USA will be aiming for that 2nd spot.
FIFA WC USA Matches & Schedule: The Yanks will begin their campaign with a game against Wales on 22nd November, England on the 26th, and end their group stages with Iran on the 30th of the month.
Former Netherlands boss Van Gaal claims FIFA helped Messi to win the World Cup for Argentina. He felt Argentina-Netherlands quarterfinal was a premeditated game.
