FIFA WC GERMANY TEAM: The winners of the 2014 World Cup, owing to a brilliant goal in extra time by Mario Gotze, were humbled in Russia in the last World Cup, as they were knocked out of the competition in the group stage.

After Joachim Löw’s successful stint with Germany across a couple of years, he decided to step down after Germany only managed to reach the Round of 16 stages in the Euro 2020 competition.

He was followed by Hansi Flick, the treble-winning coach of FC Bayern Munich and expectations are high as the Germans make their way to Qatar.

FIFA WC GERMANY SQUAD: When you have someone like Hansi Flick at the helm, you know that you’re going to play some attacking football. It also helps that Germany has an abundance of attacking talent that helps them play to the style that Flick envisions.

They have a very fluid attacking shape which sees wingers dropping deep, and fullbacks running up ahead, almost to the point that they look like the wingers.

As expected, they topped their group in World Cup Qualifiers, losing only one game out of their 10 games, amassing 27 points out of a possible 10. It was not the hardest group for a team that has their quality but it was still a good display from them. They also managed to score 36 goals, while their defense was solid, as only 4 goals went by them.

GERMANY TEAM NEWS: Flick likes to use the 4-2-3-1 formation that he used to use at FC Bayern Munich, which gives his side a lot of options across the park. Most of the German team is quite technical, so they have good passing skills which come into play against teams who play deep.

Muller will be key to how their attack progresses as the Bayern attacker has a lot of experience playing at the World Cup, having won the Golden Boot at the 2010 World Cup and also racked up 79 goal contributions in Flick’s 2 seasons in charge in Munich.

Sane has been in sublime form this season and his blistering runs will be something opposition teams will need to be wary of.

GERMANY Team INJURY LIST: Marco Reus might miss the World Cup after suffering from a knock but nothing is confirmed yet. Timo Werner, the RB Leipzig striker will definitely miss the World Cup though as he injured his left ankle and was ruled out until the start of 2023.

FIFA WC GERMANY GROUP NEWS: The German giants will be in the company of Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica in Group E. They will be locking horns with Spain to grab the first position in this group and their clash should decide the course of this group.

FIFA WC GERMANY Matches & Schedule: Germany will play Japan in their first group stage game on 23rd November, followed by the big clash against Spain on the 28th and they round up their group stage games with Costa Rica on 2nd December.
