FIFA WC FRANCE TEAM: One of the favorites to win the World Cup this time around, France is heading to Qatar with the label of the winners of the 2018 WC in Russia. A team that is stacked throughout the pitch and there is formidable depth available too, the Les Bluez will be aiming to make it back-to-back titles this time.

They’ve not had the best of times post their win in Russia as they lost to Switzerland in the Round of 16 in the Euro 2020 competition. They will be looking to have a strong outing with all eyes on them in Qatar.

FIFA WC FRANCE SQUAD: Didier Deschamps has been at the helm for Les Bluez since 2012 and they have tasted success under him in these last 10 years. There are some question marks over him being the coach since they have failed to live up to their 2018 triumph ever since they won the World Cup in Russia. Nonetheless, they have the necessary firepower to go on and win the coveted trophy this time.

In their World Cup qualifying games, France had quite a walk in the park with them finishing on 18 points, with their second challenger, Ukraine, in 2nd place with 12 points to their name. Griezmann and Mbappe were their main men in attack with them leading the goal scoring for the French team. They will need to be at their A-game if they want to retain the biggest title in World Football.

FRANCE TEAM NEWS: The France squad is quite versatile as they can play in several different formations, keeping in mind the variety of players they possess. But, all things point towards them going for the 3-4-1-2 formation, where they can get the most out of their attack, midfield, and defense.

Mbappe, Griezmann, and Benzema are expected to slot into the attack, whereas with the absence of Pogba and Kante, we will see a midfield this time around for France. With Varane, Digne, and Lucas Hernandez likely to be out too, the defense will have some new faces compared to 4 years back.

FRANCE Team INJURY LIST: France is struggling with injuries to a number of their players, but since they have a lot of depth, they should be good as we head closer to Qatar.

After going through an operation on his hamstring issue, Kante will be missing the World Cup this time, along with him, Paul Pogba too won’t be making the flight to Qatar with his knee not healing back quickly enough after surgery.

As mentioned above, Varane, Digne, and Lucas Hernandez’s place in the squad is in jeopardy as they are all dealing with injuries.

FIFA WC FRANCE GROUP NEWS: Les Bluez will be in Group D with the likes of Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia. On paper, it should be quite an easy task for them to top the group and make their way to the Round of 16.

FIFA WC FRANCE Matches & Schedule: The Les Bluez start their title defense against Australia on the 23rd of November and will want to begin with a win. Following this, they play Denmark on the 27th and finish their Group-C games with a clash against Tunisia on the 30th of November.
