FIFA WC CROATIA TEAM: The surprise runner-ups of the FIFA World Cup 2018, Croatia punched well above their weight in that tournament as they went past any and every team that came their way. Sadly though, there was just no answer to France in that edition of the World Cup, as they defeated Croatia 4-2 on that fateful night. Since then, they haven’t been at the same level as they only managed to get to the Round of 16 stages in the Euro 2020. The Croats will be hoping to do something similar to 2018 in Qatar.
FIFA WC CROATIA SQUAD: Zlatko Dalic has built a formidable team in the form of Croatia as we saw them in action in Russia, back in 2018. They had a lot of experienced heads in their ranks at that point but things have changed for now, as those players won’t be making the playing eleven due to a mixture of them retiring like Mandzukic and Rakitic, and some players getting too old like Vida and hence, we shall see a new look team this time around.
They were relatively untroubled in their World Cup Qualifying phase as they topped their group and only lost 1 game out of the 10 that they played. Everything seemed to click for them as they managed to net 21 goals, whereas, on the other end, they were as stingy as you would expect them to be, with only 4 goals leaked.
CROATIA TEAM NEWS: Croatia is going to be deployed in a 4-3-3 by the looks of things. The strength of this team lies in its midfield with its trio of Brozovic-Modric-Kovacic. This trio has so much quality both in attacking transitions and also when they are without the ball, trying to defend.
Modric just seems like a wine that gets better with age as even though it has been 4 years since his heroics to take Croatia to the finals in 2018, he still has the energy, zest, and athleticism for another World Cup and his form for Real Madrid this season has been good too.
Gvardiol and Šutalo are rumored to be their CBs in Qatar and this young pair will suit the possession style that Croatia likes to play. They will miss the height of Mandzukic in attack but they do have a good striker in Kramaric, who can make a difference with his dribbling and vision.
CROATIA Team INJURY LIST: It doesn’t look like Croatia has any injuries that will trouble them as we get closer to the World Cup.
FIFA WC CROATIA GROUP NEWS: Croatia is part of Group F and they are accompanied by Belgium, Morocco, and Canada. Looking at the group, they are expected to go through to the Round of 16 stage easily.
FIFA WC CROATIA Matches & Schedule: Croatia will begin their World Cup campaign against Morocco on the 23rd of November, then they play against Canada on the 27th, and their final game will be against Belgium on the 1st of December.
