FIFA WC CANADA  TEAM: Canada has been a team who have been on the ascent for some time now. Even though football is not a sport that is played a lot in that country, they have started showing some glimpses of talent and cohesion and the future does look bright for them. For now, their aim will be to put their best foot forward and have an eventful outing at the mega event of the World Cup in Qatar.

FIFA WC CANADA SQUAD: The Canadians were in top form in the World Cup Qualifiers as they topped the table ending with 28 points to their name. Even Mexico, who came second ended on the same number of points, but Canada eventually finished the group on top.

They were really good in front of goal as they scored as many as 23 goals in their campaign, while only managing to allow their net to be breached 7 times. Out of the 14 games that they played, they won 8 and only lost 2, which shows that this team had the knack to go around and win games, while also scoring a good number of goals.

Even though the quality of the opponents will be quite different in the World Cup, Canada will be hoping to continue their run of form.

CANADA TEAM NEWS: Canada is touted to play in a 4-2-3-1 formation in Qatar. Their young team has been playing in this formation and sometimes the 4-4-2 as well (against stronger opposition) for quite some time now.

They rely on defending deep and then hitting their opposition on the counter-attack and this template has been working out for them so far. While Davies plays as a left-back for Bayern Munich, he tends to be deployed as a left midfielder for the Maple Leafs and he can be quite a threat on the left when they are counterattacking.

They have a relatively younger squad compared to a number of teams and this will be quite a good test for the young players to show their skill on the biggest stage.

CANADA Team INJURY LIST: Alphonso Davies suffered a hamstring strain with FC Bayern Munich and will miss 2 games with them, but his participation in the World Cup with Canada is reportedly not at risk.

FIFA WC CANADA GROUP NEWS: Canada is part of Group F and they are accompanied by Belgium, Morocco, and Croatia.

FIFA WC CANADA Matches & Schedule: Belgium will be Canada’s first opponent in the World Cup on the 24th of November, followed by Croatia on the 27th, and their final game will be against Morocco on the 1st of December.
