After a stupendous performance at the Denmark Open quarters, India ace shuttler PV Sindhu has made it to the semis of the tournament. In the previous round, she beat Thailand’s Supanida Kathetong in straight games 21-19, 21-12. This is her first semis this year in a 750 tournament, and will face her old foe Carolina Marin of Spain.

The Rio Olympics gold medalist Marin has a better record against the Indian and leads the way 10-5 in all contests. The Spaniard has, in fact, won the last four meetings in PV Sindhu vs Carolina Marin clashes. Sindhu’s last win came way back in 2018, at the Malaysia Open quarters.
In the semis too, Marin is expected to come out on top, given her recent form. She has already beaten the top seed in the tournament, Tai Tzu-ying, and looks hungry for more. Her comeback from injury has been far better from that of Sindhu, and has made a few finals already this year. She had also reached the finals of the BWF World Championships in August this year.
