UFC 295 updated card after Jon Jones withdrawal

Jones had to withdraw from the event after he tore a pectoral tendon in his chest. Dana White took to social media to confirm the news and explained that Jones requires surgery on his chest. Therefore, he will be out for at least eight months.

As a result, the division will move forward with an interim title clash. The UFC added Serghei Pavlovich vs Tom Aspinall to the UFC 295 card and the two heavyweights will compete for the interim heavyweight title of the world. Both fighters are expert finishers and therefore, it will be an entertaining fight.

However, the interim title clash between Pavlovich and Aspinall will not be the main event. Instead, the UFC promoted Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira to the main event while Pavlovich vs Aspinall will be the co-main event for the night.

Other fights remain the same. Diego Lopes and Pat Sabatini will compete on the card. Jessica Andrade vs Mackenzie Dern will go ahead, while Matt Frevola vs Benoit Saint-Denis will kick off the UFC 295 main card.

So there you have it. These are the changes to UFC 295 after Jon Jones pulled out with an injury. What do you make of the UFC’s decision to give Pavlovich and Aspinall the interim title fight? Do you think Stipe Miocic should’ve fought on the card?
