The first day of the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship Grand Finals kicked off yesterday in Istanbul, Türkiye. Stalwart Esports, Alpha7 and S2G currently topping the leaderboard of sixteen squads. The team is looking to maximise their share of the $3 million prize pool and take home the title of 2023 PMGC Champion. Check summary of PMGC 2023 Grand Finals Day 1 below.
With last year’s winner and local team S2G in attendance, the pace was set from game one as the Turkish crowd cheered on their team with the hopes of a back-to-back victory. S2G started strong, earning a third-place finish in their first and third game.
While somewhat inconsistent throughout the six matches, a victory in game five and second place in game six meant they ended the day in the number three spot, with 52 points.
However it was Stalwart Esports, who have looked like a powerhouse all year. It clearly set out their mission to win it all with a strong performance across all six matches. They secured two WWCD and no finishes outside of the top ten. They ended the day with 62 points and put themselves at the top of the leaderboard of PMGC 2023 Grand Finals Day 1.

The next two days will see the fate of all teams decided as it becomes clear who will be crowned as champion. With six matches down, twelve more are yet to be played. It will decide the winner of the most prestigious competition in PUBG MOBILE Esports.
