Al Ittihad’s plan to land in summer target Mohamed Salah from Liverpool revealed

With the assistance of the former Premier League club director, Al Ittihad devised an effective strategy to bring in target Mohamed Salah from Liverpool.

Al Ittihad has devised a clever scheme to ultimately sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool’s grasp. The Saudi Pro League heavyweights attempted to capture the legendary winger before the Premier League transfer season ended in September.

They were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Egypt international, whose contract at Anfield expires in June 2025. Now as per The Sun, Al Ittihad is reportedly planning a second bid for the 31-year-old. They intend to capture Mohamed Salah with the assistance of a former Liverpool member.

Earlier Daily Mail reported that Ittihad are hoping to hire former Liverpool sports director Julian Ward. Ward made an unexpected departure from Anfield in the summer. Ward was instrumental in bringing players like Alexis MacAllister to Merseyside. However, he resigned a few months after succeeding Michael Edwards.

Al Ittihad are hoping he can work with his might and assist them in landing Salah, their main target for the summer. Salah has 12 goals and five assists so far this season and is in excellent form.

Liverpool turned down a £200 million bid for Salah. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was convinced that no amount of money would entice the club to part ways with the attacker. He said Salah is content at Anfield.

“Mo is here, Mo never came to me and wanted to go. I didn’t think a second about it, to be honest, should we [sell] or not, or whatever.” said Jurgen Klopp to The Sun in November.

“So, yes, he’s here. He feels extremely well, you can see that he enjoys the team a lot. He is very good shape, on the pitch, goalscoring-wise, everybody can see that. Off the pitch, he’s in even better shape, I would say. He’s really positive.” the German added.

Salah and Liverpool will be back in play on Thursday. In their fifth Europa League Group E encounter of the season, they will play Austrian team Lask at Anfield.
