Sudharsan played second fiddle to Wriddhiman Saha in their 64-run partnership but took charge after the latter’s departure. Sai stitched a brilliant 81-run partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya and punished the CSK pacers at the death.
The youngster fell 4 runs short of his maiden IPL century as he got LBW in the final over of the innings. However, with his brilliant knock in the final, Sudharsan surpassed Manish Pandey to become the top Indian uncapped scorer in an IPL final.
The batter’s innings consisted of six sixes and eight fours. Apart from Sai, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha also played a brilliant knock of 54 at the top. For Chennai Super Kings, Matheesha Pathirana, Ravindra Jadeja, and Deepak Chahar were among the wickets.
