With an opportunity wasted due to wash out, India Cricket Team travels to Port Elizabeth for the IND vs SA 2nd T20. And with that, they carry the same selection headache. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad are in focus as only one can make it to the Playing XI with Shubman Gill guaranteed starter in India vs South Africa series.
While many would welcome such a problem of plenty, it is a difficult pick. Even though Ruturaj Gaikwad emerged as the top-scorer in the IND vs AUS series, Jaiswal set the pace with explosive batting in the powerplay. And that is what the India Cricket Team would be looking for to complement Shubman Gill.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is rather identical to Gill in terms of pacing their innings whereas Jaiswal is the catalyst. His explosive batting puts the opposition on the backfoot early on. And that is something India would want to bank on in the IND vs SA 2nd T20.
IND vs SA 2nd T20: What to expect?
With the washout in Durban, the India Cricket Team now has only five T20Is to go before the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Even though captain Suryakumar Yadav has emphasised on importance of IPL 2024 in team selection, the youngsters can attract the nation’s attention with performance in international cricket.

- Shubman Gill is back in the team and is likely to open the proceedings with young southpaw Yashavi Jaiswal.
