Virat Kohli has played a crucial role in steadying India’s formidable batting order, currently in outstanding form. Demonstrating his expertise in chasing, he scored 85 against Australia, an unbeaten 55 against Afghanistan, 103 not out against Bangladesh, and 95 against New Zealand.
In matches where India batted first, he served as the linchpin. Noteworthy performances include his 88 against Sri Lanka, an unbeaten 101 against South Africa, 51 against the Dutch, and a remarkable 117 in the semi-final. This exceptional run can be described as nothing short of a dream.
Rohit Sharma
Providing explosive beginnings in nearly every match of the tournament, Rohit Sharma has been instrumental in setting the stage for the Men in Blue. Despite registering only one century, his explosive innings have enabled fellow batters to achieve big totals. Rohit has amassed 550 runs in 10 matches at an impressive average of 55.00 and a striking rate of 124.15. His remarkable stats include one hundred, three fifties, along with 62 fours and 28 sixes.
Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami has emerged as the leading wicket-taker with an impressive tally of 23 wickets in six matches. His notable performances include a five-wicket haul (5/54) against New Zealand in Dharamshala, 4/22 against England in Lucknow, 5/18 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, 2/18 against South Africa in Kolkata, and a record-breaking 7/57 in the semi-final against the Kiwis in Mumbai.
Along with Kohli, Shami is leading the race to win ICC Player of the Tournament award.
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah stands as the linchpin of the Indian bowling attack alongside Shami. With the ball, the Indian pacer has clinched 18 wickets in 10 innings, boasting a stellar bowling average of 18.33, a strike rate of 27.61, and an economy of 3.98, including a notable 4-wicket haul.
