Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami are nominated for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Player of the Tournament award. The list of contenders is below, with four Indians among the nine vying for the prestigious title.

Notably, the contenders for ICC Player of the tournament award are not visible on the ICC website or social media handle, but India TV has procured that list.

Virat Kohli has played a crucial role in steadying India’s formidable batting order, currently in outstanding form. Demonstrating his expertise in chasing, he scored 85 against Australia, an unbeaten 55 against Afghanistan, 103 not out against Bangladesh, and 95 against New Zealand.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has emerged as the leading wicket-taker with an impressive tally of 23 wickets in six matches. His notable performances include a five-wicket haul (5/54) against New Zealand in Dharamshala, 4/22 against England in Lucknow, 5/18 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, 2/18 against South Africa in Kolkata, and a record-breaking 7/57 in the semi-final against the Kiwis in Mumbai.

Along with Kohli, Shami is leading the race to win ICC Player of the Tournament award.

Additionally, while fulfilling his wicket-keeping duties, de Kock took 18 catches and one stumping.

Daryl Mitchell

Mitchell initially scored a 127-ball 130 against India in Dharamsala during the league stage and then, an 85-ball hundred in the semi-final.
