Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) acquired the services of Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians in a straight cash deal. As a result, the Australian all-rounder will now be a part of the Red Army in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL)edition. Meanwhile, RCB director Mo Bobat spoke about the trade deal with MI and how an expected boring afternoon on the IPL retention day ended in an exciting manner.

We were pretty clear on our retention and release decisions. Felt like we would have a very quiet afternoon. Going to the IPL auction, a pace all-rounder was our priority. We had a very tough decision to leave Wanindu Hasaranga. As a result, someone like Cameron Green was a perfect fit for us and we also discussed him as our standout option,” said RCB director Mo Bobat.

Mo Bobat stated RCB came to know about Green’s availability just a few hours before the deadline. “With a couple of deadline retention hours left, we were made aware of Green’s potential availability. Having spoken to the guys in MI. Some of our guys also discussed the pros and cons of the trade. However, we knew that there was no surety of purchasing Cameron Green in the auction,” he added.

We managed to get a cash trade with them. But only at the 11th hour which was interesting, and it was an exciting finish not the quiet afternoon I was expecting,” added, Bobat.
