‘Difficult conditions to bowl’ Suryakumar Yadav, Ashish Nehra defends India bowling

Suryakumar Yadav and Ashish Nehra defend India’s bowling as Glenn Maxwell single handedly propels the Australia to victory.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Ashish Nehra have jumped in the defence of India bowling as the Men in Blue suffered a loss in the IND vs AUS 3rd T20. Glenn Maxwell spearheaded an incredible run chase for Australia, nearly single-handedly steering them to a remarkable victory over India by five wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s century propelled the India Cricket Team to a formidable total of 222/3.

Despite Australia losing wickets at regular intervals, their batsmen managed to stay close to the required run rate throughout. Ultimately, it turned into a display dominated by one individual.

After the match, Suryakumar Yadav emphasized the crucial significance of dismissing Maxwell, who caused havoc among the Indian bowlers. However, he pinpointed how the dew in the field created a rather adverse condition for India bowlers.

“The plan was to get Maxi out as quickly as possible. To defend 220 with so much dew, have to give something to the bowlers. Australia were always in the game. Told the boys we’ll try and get him out quickly but it didn’t happen, it was insane.” said Suryakumar Yadav.

In the final two overs, Australia required 43 runs to win, and it looked as though India would manage a win. However, Maxwell and Wade never gave up, taking Axar and Prasidh Krishna for 22 and 23 runs, respectively, in the final two overs. Suryakumar Yadav, however, came into defence of Axar Patel.

“Axar is an experienced bowler, though there’s always a chance if he’s an experienced bowler even if it’s a spinner when there’s dew. Very proud of my boys.” SKY added.

Leg-spinner Bishnoi continued to be the standout bowler for India with stats of 2/32, while Prasidh had a dismal day to put it simply. Despite giving up 39 runs in his first two overs, the right-arm pacer did a commendable job of giving up just six in the 18th over. However, when it came time to bowl the game’s last over, he was disorganised once more and was unable to save the grace.

Ashish Nehra also resonated with Suryakumar on the difficulties of bowling in the dewy condition. Speaking on the note and India’s bowling performance on a whole he said:

“Difficult conditions to bowl anyway. But if you see as a bowling unit, you would like to defend those run. Specially in the last over a guy like Prasidh Krishna who has all the talent in the world (should be able to defend the runs).”

“Going forward, lets hope he will learn from these things. These small things makes you stronger as a bowler. There’s no hideway here, there are only two routes, either you sit and dwell about what happened, or you move on from what happened today.” he concluded.
