BWF Rankings: Following his Orleans Masters victory, India’s Priyanshu Rajawat jumped up 20 places in the BWF Men’s Singles rankings. The 21-year old has reached his career-best World No.38 spot in the recently updated rankings on Tuesday.  This makes Rajawat the fourth best ranked Indian player in the Men’s Singles after HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen. Priyanshu Rajawat began his campaign at the Orelans Masters ranked World No.58. He was infact not even part of the main draw for the tournament. Following several withdrawals, he was able to find a place in the draw. Rajawat shown terrific form in the tournament as he didn’t drop a game until the final.

In the suummit clash, he faced Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen and dropped a game for the first time in the week. However he bounced back and clinched a  21-15, 19-21, 21-16 to win his career’s first-ever BWF Super 300 title. His victory in the tournament helped him gain 7000 points.

Rajawat now has 30786 points and has gone ahead of compatriots Mithun Manjunatha and Sai Praneeth in the rankings. Manjunath infact has jumped up seven spots and is currently at the 47th spot. Sai Praneeth meanwhile dropped three places to get to World No.50.

HS Prannoy has maintained his position at World No.9. Srikanth has dropped two places and finds himself at the 23rd spot. Lakshya Sen is just behind him as the World No.24.

In the Women’s Singles, PV Sindu has slipped out of the Top 10 yet again. Sindhu didn’t feature in the Orleans Masters but dropped down two places to go back to World No.11. Saina Nehwal has gone up one place and she is currently at World No.31.
