ZIM vs BAN: Three problems Zimbabwe must address ahead of 2nd ODI against Bangladesh – Riding on superb performances of Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das Bangladesh won the first ODI of the three-match series against Zimbabwe by 155 runs here at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on Friday. Zimbabwe were outclassed by Bangladesh in all three departments. They failed to tackle Shakib Al Hasan with the bat and could not manage to put pressure on Bangladesh batting. Liton Das scored a brilliant century to help visitors post a challenging total. Young pacer Blessing Muzarabani has become Brendan Taylor’s go-to man, however, they can not rely only on him. In the batting department, their openers Wesley Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani need to fire as well.

In this article, we at Insidesport will take you through three problems Zimbabwe need to address ahead of the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. (ZIM vs BAN 2nd ODI)

Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh

To much pressure on Blessing Muzarabani

ZIM vs BAN: Young Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani, who has just played 22 ODI matches is expected to deliver for Zimbabwe on every occasion. The right arm pacer has not received ideal support from other bowlers. Blessing was the peak of the bowlers in the one-off Test as well. In his 22 ODI matches he has picked 27 wickets at an economy of 5. Other bowlers need to pull up their socks in order to make comeback in the series.

The Shakib Al Hasan threat

Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh

ZIM vs BAN: Veteran Bangladesh spinner Shakib Al Hasan picked five wickets in the first ODI and did not let the host get any momentum in the game. In one-off Test as well showed a glimpse of form. Zimbabwe batters need to find a way to tackle Shakib’s left-arm spin bowling.

Out of Form Wesley Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani

ZIM vs BAN: Zimbabwe were chasing a tough target in the first ODI, Taylor was excepting a solid opening stand from Wesley Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani. However, both were sent back in the dugout in no time and Zimbabwe were reduced to 13-2. Taylor and Regis Chakabva are in great form but they need support from the top order.
