ZIM vs BAN, 1st ODI: Shakib Al Hasan becomes Bangladesh’s highest wicket-taker in Tests, T20Is and ODIs – Veteran Bangladesh spinner Shakib Al Hasan became the country’s highest-wicket taker in all three formats of the game. He achieved the feat when he took the wicket of Zimbabwe captain Bredon Taylor in the ongoing first ODI. Shakib overtook Mashrafe Mortaza to claim the number one spot in the highest wicket-takers list for Bangladesh in ODIs.

Shakib made his international debut in 2006 and so far he has played 213 ODI matches in which he has picked 271 wickets at a brilliant economy of 4.45 and an average of 29.76.

Shakib is also countries highest wicket-taker in Test cricket with 215 wickets under his belt. The left-arm spinner has played Test 58 in his career so far. While in the T20I he has 76 wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s run chase got off to the worst possible start after Tadiwanashe Marumani was dismissed in only the second over of the chase. Marumani, making his debut chopped it onto the stumps to leave Zimbabwe reeling in their run chase. Things further deteriorated after Wesley Madhevere was also castled by Taskin Ahmed with a peach of a delivery.
