Xavi returns to Spain as Ronald Koeman was sacked after 14 months in charge of the club. Xavi left his role as Al-Sadd boss to return to the club where he achieved boundless success and was identified as one of the greatest midfielders. The 41-year-old was unveiled to 10,000 fans at Camp Nou today.
But before he was presented to the crowd, the loudspeakers boomed with the hit song ‘Another One Bites The Dust’. Xavi will be hoping it is not an ominous sign with the LaLiga giants sacking their recent managers.
The Spaniard has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Barca. He returns to Barcelona with his old side having struggled this season after a summer of turmoil that saw Lionel Messi forced to leave. Barcelona currently sit 9th in the LaLiga table after 12 games.

The former Al Sadd manager addressed the 10,000 fans present at the stadium. He said, “I don’t want to get too emotional so I will just tell you one thing- we are the best club in the world.”
Xavi became the first Barcelona manager to be presented on the pitch of Camp Nou. The midfielder returned to the club after six years as he left Barcelona to play in Qatar. He has got the Barca fans excited and will look to bring back the Tiki-taka style of play which is the Blaugrana way.
