WWE Smackdown – Will the Edge return before WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia? WWE Smackdown superstar and Hall of Famer Edge is currently on a hiatus. He has been recuperating a kayfabe injury at home that he sustained at the Madison Square Garden edition of Friday Night Smackdown in a match against Seth Rollins. This news was broke by Edge’s better half WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix while commentating at Tuesday night’s NXT 2.0.
WWE created the injury-angle to write off the Rated-R Superstar for a while from WWE TV. Edge, who inked a 5-match per year deal with WWE in his latest WWE contract, has already wrestled eight matches in this year so far.- This means he is running ahead of his deal, and maybe that is the reason why he has been sidelined from WWE TV for a while using a terrific story segment.
WWE Smackdown: Any news on when Edge would be back?
This past week on WWE Smackdown, Seth Rollins came up with a lit promo where he said that he isn’t done with Edge and wants to face him for the third time. For those who don’t know, Edge and Seth Rollins have battled twice in the last 20 days, and both have achieved success one time each. A third and final match would be the perfect way to roll down curtains on this heated rivalry.

So, when can we expect Edge to return for that one final match against Seth Rollins? Could it be the Crown Jewel event at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 21, Survivor Series in November, or TLC in December?
Well, as per the rumored reports, the Rated-R Superstar is expected to stay away from WWE TV for a few weeks.- This means Edge vs. Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel looks gloomy. We may not see Edge return until October 21, or if he would return this year. Seth Rollins and Edge have given two Wrestlemania level matches, therefore it would be nice to see them have their final showdown at Wrestlemania 38 next year in Dallas.
