WWE Smackdown Results and Highlights 20th November 2020: Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre Contract signing, Murphy beats Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan gets new look and wins the match and more, Check out full results here

With Survivor Series taking place this Sunday, the two competitors in the pay-per-view main event will sit down to sign the contract for their match on tonight’s edition of SmackDown. For the second straight week, Raw’s Drew McIntyre — who won back the WWE championship from Randy Orton this past Monday — will appear on SmackDown to confront universal champion Roman Reigns.

McIntyre showed up on SmackDown last week promising to win his match with Orton and punch his ticket to face Reigns at Survivor Series. In the main event of that show, McIntyre defeated Jey Uso, who has been serving at the side of Reigns since their rivalry ended following last month’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Now, having made good on his promise, Reigns will put pen to paper to make his match with McIntyre official. Of course, contract singings are rarely so simple in WWE and chaos is to be expected.

What else will go down once this week’s episode of SmackDown begins at 8 p.m. ET? Check out a short preview of this week’s show below, and scroll a bit further for live results and updates throughout the broadcast on Friday evening.

WWE SmackDown preview

Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre sign

Survivor Series contract

Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso

Seth Rollins vs. Murphy

Tonight’s SmackDown opens with the Street Profits backstage in the champion’s lounge and they’re hyped for Survivor Series. They’re excited for The Undertaker’s return and Ford rolls his eyes back. Big E appears and he’s wearing Undertaker’s hat. Big E says he’s excited to see the Deadman also, but the Profits are only two days away from facing the greatest tag team of all-time, the New Day.

Ford says New Day are stepping in the ring with the men who are too fine for wine and all they do is win. Dawkins says they’ll break bread anytime but on Sunday they will beat E’s boys a$$’s. Big E says they don’t have to prove it to him, because Woods and Kofi are here tonight, then he introduces his boys to the ring.

Woods says they know they don’t go here anymore, but they’re here to talk about Survivor Series and they needed to address the Street Profits. Woods says they’ll be dead after the match and Kofi says that’s too far but Woods says it was just a segue to talk about The Undertaker. They pay tribute to Undertaker by lying down and sitting up and then out comes Sami Zayn.

Zayn says the only reason The Undertaker is leaving now is because he knows he owes him some payback. But WWE are against him as usual and they’ve got him busy with Bobby Lashley to keep him away from Undertaker. Woods says Sami looks like a downbeat dad who just made down-payment on a one-bedroom apartment and they make fun of him until Baron Corbin comes out.

King Corbin lambasts New Day for being back on SmackDown and says they need to get the hell out of his ring and off his show. Zayn agrees and out comes Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode. Ziggler says he has a problem with Zayn but that can wait, because New Day shouldn’t be here. Ziggler says they cost them a tag title shot and Kofi says they can have a title match if they want, but instead they coerce Corbin and Zayn into a match against Roode and Ziggler. The two heels seem about to throw-down when Ziggler and Roode attack New Day, then out comes Street Profits to clear the ring. It’s gonna be four-on-four after the break.

We return to find Ziggler holding Ford down with a rear chinlock but Ford quickly fights up and tags Dawkins to hit a double team splash on Dolph. Roode tags in and Dawkins hits a dropkick, then takes a wristlock and tags Kofi who continues the hold. Roode knee’s Kofi and hits the ropes but Kofi catches him with a spinning back elbow. Kofi hits a dropkick that knocks Roode into the corner and tags Woods for the Unicorn Stampede.

Woods dropkicks Roode in the corner but Corbin tags in and takes the beating to woods and hits Deep Six for a two-count. Ford eventually tags in and hits a flurry of offence on Corbin and Kofi comes in for a springboard splash but inadvertently hits Montez Ford and looks shocked as we head to the break.

Back live and Ziggler is beating on Montez and makes a tag to Corbin. The heels keep Ford isolated and Roode is legal when Ford dives to make a tag to Kofi. Kingston comes in hot and hits the Boom Drop, then looks for Trouble In Paradise but Roode avoids it. Roode tosses Kofi out and Woods blind-tags in, then drops Roode for a two-count.

Montez tags himself in and hits a splash in the corner to Roode, but gets caught with a spinebuster. Sami Zayn tags himself in off of Roode but Dawkins catches him with a spinebuster and Ford hits From The Heavens for the win!

Later tonight, Murphy will face Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan returns to action. The camera cuts backstage to Daniel Bryan with a fresh haircut. Kayla Braxton asks him if he’s happy to be back but before he can answer Sami Zayn appears and berates him. Zayn yells that Bryan is trying to steal his spotlight etc, but Bryan shoves him down and turns around to answer Kayla’s question.

Daniel Bryan and Kayla Braxton have their real interview and we see footage of Jey Uso beating Bryan a few weeks ago. Bryan says he saw the interview Kayla did with Jey and he said nothing he did was personal. He believes Jey, because he has a devil on his shoulder. But everybody has a devil on one shoulder, and an angel on the other. He gets fired-up saying he couldn’t pick his daughter up because of his injuries, and tonight Jey should be worried. But it’s nothing personal.

Adam Pearce is backstage, complimenting Otis and letting him know he is officially a part of Team SmackDown. Chad Gable appears and congratulates Otis and they walk off together. Natalya walks up and asks Nattie why she isn’t on the SmackDown Team, and he says he;s chosen Bayley instead. Nattie flips her hair at him and walks off.

Seth Rollins is backstage and he says Murphy was nothing before him. He says he made Murphy a main eventer and showed him the true path, but all he got in return was a knife in the back. But he will no longer suffer for Murphy’s mistakes. After he teaches Murphy his final lesson tonight, he will go back to being what he was before; nothing to no-one.

The winner of this match will join Team SmackDown, but out comes Bayley before it starts and joins Bianca Belair on commentary. The bell rings and Tamina hits a superkick right off the bat and Nattie rolls out of the ring. Tamina goes out and throws Natalya into the steel steps, then gets her back inside for a two-count. Tamina beats Natalya in the corner but Nattie fires back with a discus clothesline. Natalya applies a Sharpshooter and Tamina taps.

Bayley gets into the ring after the match and Natalya hugs her, then out comes the Riott Squad. The SmackDown Women’s team gathers in the ring and pose together, heels and faces.

We see a replay of Drew McIntyre confronting Roman Reigns last week, then beating Randy Orton on RAW to become the new WWE Champion. McIntyre make his way to the ring to sign the contract for their match at Survivor Series.

Roman Reigns comes out alongside Paul Heyman and takes his sweet time getting to the ring. Adam Pearce is here to officiate the signing. Roman speaks without a microphone and says he knew Drew could beat Randy, he knew he would do it. Because he’s been in his shoes and he learned all the same lessons…years ago. But Drew is in the right place at the wrong time. Drew says he knows Roman is trying to piss him off so he flips the table and hits him, but he’s already got his match.

Drew says he wants to get to the point; Roman told him to win the title, and he did. Then he told him to come here and make the match official, and that’s why he’s here. McIntyre signs the contract and hands it to Reigns, then tells him it’s his move and tells him to prepare for war. Reigns stops himself and says the only person that advises him is Paul Heyman. This is his show. WWE is his. And he needs to teach Drew one last lesson; on Sunday he won’t like the brutal truth, that he is a secondary Champion. A stand-in.

Roman says he’s the Champion. The face of WWE. The tribal chief and the head of the table. One day Drew will have the opportunity to be the man, the face and the Champion, and when he does he will look back at this and thank Roman. Drew will think about these moments and love Roman for the lessons he imposed. Reigns signs the contract and says Drew will always be his favourite number two. Heyman hands Roman his title and they leave as McIntyre watches on.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio come out with Murphy but Seth knocks him off the apron. Murphy tells them he’s got it and gets into the ring but Seth beats him into the corner. Rollins knocks Murphy out of the ring and throws him into the barricade, then back into the ring. Seth taunts the Mysterio’s before tying Murphy in the ropes, then goes out and grabs a Kendo stick.

Rey pulls the Kendo from Seth but Rollins punches him and throws him into the announce desk

Rey pulls the Kendo from Seth but Rollins punches him and throws him into the announce desk. Dominik runs up but Seth throws him into the barricade and beats him down. Murphy runs out and attacks Seth, then puts him back into the ring. Murphy gets on the apron but Rollins knocks him off and into the barricade. Aalyah tends to Murphy and Seth comes out and she backs off and falls over.

We return to find Seth choking Murphy in the corner. Murphy tries to superkick Seth but gets kicked back and caught with a slingblade. Murphy knocks Seth outside and follows-up with a tope to the floor. Murphy puts Seth inside and goes up top, but Rollins jumps up and hits a superplex into a falcon arrow for a near-fall. They wind-up on the apron, trading hands and Murphy kicks Seth before hitting an incredible leaping knee.

Murphy slowly gets back into the ring but Rollins catches him with The Stomp…but Murphy gets a foot on the bottom rope. Seth berates Murphy and lifts him for a Buckle Bomb. Rollins hits the ropes for another Stomp but Murphy catches him with a knee and hits Murphy’s Law for the win!

As the Mysterio family celebrate with Murphy, Sasha Banks’ music hits and The Boss makes her way to the ring.

Michael Cole is in the ring with Asuka and Sasha Banks. Sasha says she beat Asuka to become Champion earlier this year, and Asuka knows she can do it again. Asuka screams in Japanese and says “you can’t see me”, to which Sasha says Asuka knows she is the one woman who can see her. Sasha says they can go right now if she wants, and she was born ready for Asuka. Carmella attacks Banks from behind and runs her into the turnbuckles. Carmella hangs her in the tree of woe and shouts at her, then goes to the apron and kicks her in the face.

Kayla Braxton interviews Jey Uso backstage and asks about Daniel Bryan. Jey says he got the green light to talk to her, and he also got the green light to finish what he started with Daniel Bryan. He says Bryan acts like he is a dog taking orders but he wanted to put Bryan through a table. And the only devil around him, is himself.

The match gets underway and they start brawling right away. Uso whips Bryan to the ropes and hits a back elbow. Jey takes Bryan out of the ring and tosses him to the steel steps. Uso takes the top off the announce table but Bryan comes back and puts him in the ring. Bryan comes off the top rope with a dropkick, then delivers repeated kicks to the sternum.

Bryan knocks Jey out of the ring and hits a suicide dive, then runs at him but Jey hits a back drop and Bryan crashes through the announce desk! We head to the break with both men down on the ground.

Uso climbed to the top, but Bryan cut him off and hit a huge back suplex. Bryan fired up and hit the Yes Kicks for a near fall. Bryan stomped on Uso’s face and set up for the running knee. Uso caught Bryan with a superkick.

Uso followed up with two more superkicks. The finish came when Uso attempted the splash off the top, but Bryan got his knees up and used an inside cradle for the win.

After the match, Bryan celebrated his win, and Uso watched from ringside.
