WWE SmackDown Live Results December 16: John Cena announces himself as Kevin Owens’ partner against the Bloodline: Follow WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE
Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) (c) vs. Liv Morgan & Tegan Nox (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship): Liv Morgan and Dakota Kai started the proceedings and Liv got hold of a kendo stick but Nox calmed her down. Nox and Morgan hit the corner forearm on the champions and the fight went to the floor. Back from the break Kai and Nox were in the ring. Nox applied a headbutt and tagged Liv who started off with a step-up enzuigiri.
Kai fought back into the match kick. The champions hit the double powerbomb on Morgan and went for the cover but Nox saved the day. Liv applied the codebreaker and then the sunset flip powerbomb on Kai on the floor. SKY was quick to floor Liv with a dropkick. The fight continued and Bayley interfered but Tegan took good care of her. Nox then gets attacked by someone in a hoodie who is then carted off by security. SKY takes advantage and got her back to the ring and landed a diving moonsault for the win.

LA Knight and Bray Wyatt segment: Knight grabbed the microphone and asked the crowd to shut up. He looked furious at Bray Wyatt for blindsiding him backstage for the past few weeks. He asked Bray to come out and the latter appeared without any mask or costume.
Wyatt argued that Knight is barking up the wrong tree as he is not behind all this. LA blindsided Bray as he gets in the ring and a video started playing on the tron. Uncle Howdy! Howdy asked if wanted to see something really scary. Knight tried to put boots on Wyatt and the entrance got filled with smoke. UNCLE HOWDY IT IS! He tipped his hat and laughs loudly and the sound echoed inside the arena. Knight escaped in fear.

Ricochet vs Gunther: Adam Pearce ejected Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci before the match started. Gunther tried to suffocate Ricochet but the latter somehow survived. Ricochet tried to fight back but Gunther threw him away. The fight continued as Gunther looked in control. The Ring General slammed Ricochet on the apron.
Back frpom the break Ricochet fought back with upkicks but Gunther hit the backbreaker. The Gojira Clutch was then locked in by the Intercontinental Champion. He then landed a butterfly suplex. Ricochet slowly fought back and applied the Frankensteiner to send the champion to the floor. A dropkick followed which sent Gunther into the barricade.
Ricochet showed no intentions of stopping as a Asai Moonsault followed. Back in the ring, the challenger hit the shooting star press but Gunther kicked out. The Ring General got back quickly and landed a Tenryu Powerbomb. Gunther followed it up with the Last Symphony for the win.

Bloodline segment:
Roman Reigns starts off the segemnt by saying that it is a good night for Sami Zayn. He said that the Bloodline is a problem for him and the Bloodline but he has a solution. He announced that he and Sami are going to team up with Kevin Owens and a partner of th elatter’s choice. Sami called Owens a cancer and said it will be a honor for him partner with Roman to take out Kevin.

JOHN CENA appeared on the tron and revealed the text he got from Owens. “What’s up Peacemaker? Did you know you’ve had a WWE match every year for the past twenty years except this one? Mind blown, eggplant Santa Claus peach!”
John Cena said Kevin Owens has asked him to be his tag team partner and he is surely going to do it.
Other Highilights: Two matches set for upcoming episodes of SmackDown:
- Official match set for December 30 episode of WWE SmackDown: Roman Reigns to team up with Sami Zayn to take on Kevin Owens and a partner of his choosing.
- Hit Row becomes number one contender for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. Match set for next week.
