After the latest chaotic ending of latest episode of WWE Raw where Drew McIntyre claimed his second WWE Champion against Randy Orton. Following that there are some rumors building up before Survivor Series 2020. Let us check out some of WWE Rumors for this week.
5) More On Zelina Vega’s Release From WWE
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Zelina Vega was essentially given a choice to keep her Twitch and OnlyFans account or get fired from WWE. She decided to keep them both, which led to her firing.
Here is what Meltzer said about the situation:
“So, essentially as everyone knows, the talent was given a timeframe to get rid of their Twitch and Cameo accounts. During that timeframe, Zelina Vega didn’t get rid of it and she opened an OnlyFans account. The backstory on this and it’s funny because one person kind of told me when the thing went down that there are a couple of women that are making more money with their social media than they are making with WWE and they are gonna be real interesting and one of those was Zelina Vega. On her Twitch she’s making a lot of money and so it’s like what do you do in that situation and I think she made her choice and they had to fire her and then right before it got out that she was fired she made a tweet about how she supports unionization which she has said before. I mean it’s not like that’s the first time she said that and that did play into some of it and now.”
It sucks to see Zelina go. She is going to be successful at whatever that she chooses to do after though.
4) Some Backstage Resentment In WWE
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about there being some backstage resentment in WWE. This comes after WWE’s ban of Twitch and other third-party applications.
Here is what Meltzer said after speaking with some people in the company:
“I know from talking with different people that there is a resentment that ‘ok before we were working four nights a week and working our ass off and traveling all over the country and having to pay for hotels’ and now ‘we’re working one day a week and we have a lot of time off so we are figuring out ways to make money with our time off to augment the money that we’re not making and then they try to take it away from us.’”
We feel like there has to be a better solution than WWE just banning Superstars from using Twitch. They need to work together with their talent because this could get ugly.
3) Screen Actors Guild To Get Involved With Pro Wrestling?
Reporter Jon Alba recently spoke with the Screen Actors Guild -AFTRA president, Gabrielle Carteris. During this, she noted that she is planning to speak with wrestlers and help protect them against their employers.
Here is what she said:
“Wrestling is as much about media as it is sports, and we are going to directly engage with members of this profession to help find ways for them to protect themselves.”
“As more people reinvest in unions, as as more working people are harassed by employers who don’t want to protect them, SAG-AFTRA is committed to doing what we can to help professional wrestlers secure the protections they deserve.”
WWE stars have been independent contractors for so long and have not been a part of the Screen Actors Guild. This is a big story that we will be following over the next several weeks.
2) Kane’s In-Ring Status
Kane was recently interviewed by FOX Sports. During this, he left the door open for him to return to the ring for WWE.
Here is what Kane said:
“You never say never in WWE. But, at the same point in time, I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I’m comfortable not being in the wrestling ring. It’s hard work. I’ve also gotten to the age where a lot of times I’m like, ‘Man, that looks like it hurts!’ I used to be, ‘Man, I wish I could be out there doing that!’ Now I’m kinda like, ‘Oooh golly. Those guys are a lot tougher than I am now.’ Nevertheless, if the opportunity arises … well, you know, we’ll see.”
We don’t have much interest in seeing Kane back in the ring again. Love the guy but we think that he should probably hang them up.
1) The Plans For Edge At Wrestlemania 37
According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE is considering two matches for Edge at Wrestlemania 37.
One of those matches is Edge vs Randy Orton. This is one that has been rumored for a while now and would make sense based on their storyline before Edge’s injury.
The other option being discussed by WWE is Edge vs The Fiend. Here is what the account Tweeted:
WrestleMania update: Source states that while Edge vs Randy Orton has been the long standing plan, and still is at the moment, the idea of Edge vs The Fiend has been discussed a great deal for the show.
Edge vs The Fiend would be a solid feud. I would prefer Edge vs Randy Orton though because their storyline has been pretty solid but I would be fine with either.
