As per Xero News, WWE is likely to extend the 30-men Royal Rumble to a 40-men Royal Rumble match. WWE has only increased the number of participants only twice since the last decade. In 2011, WWE had its first-ever 40-men Royal Rumble and now it seems Triple H wants to add more participants.

Xero News reported WWE is having discussions regarding the 40-men Royal Rumble but it is yet to confirm. The report stated if WWE does plan a plot they will likely announce it 2 weeks before the Royal Rumble event.
“Hearing 40 Person Rumble still under discussion. If used will only be for Mens. Still yet to be finalised. If finalised will be announced first two weeks of Jan,” tweeted Xero News.
Back in 2011, Alberto Del Rio won the 40-men Royal Rumble and it seems WWE wants to make this change due to the forbidden door rumors. Since Triple H took over the creative team, many internal changes came to light.
