The rivalry between the two superstars led to an epic showdown as WWE Hell in A Cell. Cody had already torn his pectoral muscle in the build-up to the final clash but appeared for the event. After an iconic battle, Rhodes hit his opponent with two Cross Rhodes before knocking him out with a sledgehammer.
Recently speaking on his After the Bell podcast, Corey Graves picked the contest as the match of the year 2022. He went on to shower praise on the bout by saying that “it was as close to perfect.”
“The match of 2022 I don’t think this is going to come as a surprise to anyone listening, Cody Rhodes, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. This was as close to perfect as anything gets. I will never, as long as I live, forget the collective gasp of the WWE fans in Chicago when Cody took his ring jacket off and everybody got eyes on that disgusting purple and black and blue wound that he was insane enough to fight through.” (H/T – SK Wrestling)

WWE News: Cody Rhodes has not been featured in WWE since
Though Cody managed to emerge as the winner, he was forced out of action due to his injury. He was ruled out for 8-9 months and has not made his return yet.
There have been talks of him returning to WrestleMania 39 but nothing has been confirmed to date.
