Recently, WWE held a live show on Saturday in Champaign, Illinois, where Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins were scheduled to fight each other. But right before the match, WWE announced a change for the match replacing Cody Rhodes with Drew McIntyre. WWE announced an undisclosed injury for Cody Rhodes.
Although Drew McIntyre faced Seth Rollins in the match, Cody Rhodes came out despite injury to chase down Seth Rollins after the match. The injury grew doubts in fans’ minds about the American Nightmare’s appearance at Hell in a Cell. Or else, WWE might have given rest to the former Intercontinental Champion.
Cody Rhodes is the face of the Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event who will compete in the main event of the show. There is no official statement from WWE regarding Cody Rhodes’ possible absence at Hell in a Cell.

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins is gone too far with heated tensions between both men. He is determined to end the chapter for the final time for Seth Rollins with the decider match. Although Rhodes declared his will to fight Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell, he will face a brutal assault and mind games from Seth Rollins.
