WWE Extreme Rules 2022: Drew McIntyre to face former NXT Champion in a strap match at Extreme Rules
On the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre addressed the WWE Universe with a strap in his hands announcing a major match with Karrion Kross. He announced Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules in a strap match. It is the first time Drew McIntyre will compete in a strap match in WWE.

Later, Karrion Kross arrived in the ring to attack Drew McIntyre, but the former WWE Champion was already prepared. Drew McIntyre unleashed a brutal attack on Kross, decimating him in the ring until Scarlett interrupted. Eventually, Scarlett delivered a low blow to McIntyre, allowing Kross to fight back and jeopardize McIntyre in a sleeper hold.
Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had major issues with each other in the race for the Undisputed Universal Title. Although Drew McIntyre has lost his chance against Roman Reigns to conquer the Undisputed Universal Title, he has to climb the ladder once again to get a title shot.
For WWE fans, the strap match is quite rare at Extreme Rules. However, with the change in the regime of WWE’s creative Head, WWE has introduced many stipulation matches for the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event. It is the first time Drew McIntyre will compete in a strap match in WWE.
