After bowling out Australia for 469 runs at the close of the second day on Thursday, India lost their top order cheaply. India were 37-2 at tea after the captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were both out in the span of five balls. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli did the same.
At 71 for 4, India were in even more difficulty until a determined response from Ravindra Jadeja. Just before the game ended, Nathan Lyon caught him to reinforce Australia’s dominance. India are still 318 runs behind when Ajinkya Rahane (29) and KS Bharat (5) were on the crease.
Weather Forecast for Day 4 and 5
Thunderstorms are expected on June 10 and June 11, which will cause a significant shift in the weather for the final two days of the match. On Saturday, a heavy shower is expected with a 70% probability of rain and a 28% chance of thunderstorms; as a result, play may be halted for a few hours.
On the fifth day, there is an 88 percent probability of rain and a 35 percent risk of thunderstorms, making the forecast even more bleak. Since start-stop play will be the norm for the following two days, both teams and the fans will be hoping that most of the action is concluded in the first three days.
