WTC Final 2023: The great Virat Kohli has praised Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha for his blazing half-century against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday in Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023). Saha smashed LSG bowlers all over the park to put Titans on top. The wicketkeeper-batter had a wild innings, scoring 81 runs off just 43 balls. After that blitzkrieg knock, the BCCI selectors were asked to choose Saha as KL Rahul replacement for the World Test Championship Final 2023.
With 10 fours and 4 sixes, the wicketkeeper batter made 81 runs off 43 balls and powered GT to 227. As the Lucknow bowlers failed miserably to make the breakthrough in the early half of the innings, the seasoned batter kept finding gaps with ease.

On the way to his 20-ball half-century, social media was inundated with pleas for the BCCI selectors, saying it was the ideal opportunity to choose Saha as KL Rahul’s replacement for the match against Australia in the WTC final. Dodda Ganesh, a former India bowler, was one of the first to tease the idea.
Indian Cricket Team fans also pleaded BCCI for inclusion of Saha.
Rahul, who suffered an injury playing for the team against RCB a few weeks ago, was formally declared out of the current IPL 2023 and WTC 2023 earlier last week.
While BCCI relied on Ajinkya Rahane for the WTC final due to his expertise, the selectors may also take Saha into consideration for the same reason, albeit as a backup option.

In a story on his Instagram account, former India captain Kohli praised Saha for his outstanding batting at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, writing, “What a player.”
Talking about the GT vs LSG match, the home team’s massive total of 227/2 was fueled by an enthralling opening act that saw Wriddhiman Saha smash a sparkling 81(43) and Shubman Gill knocking a classy 94*(51).
Then, Mohit Sharma took the initiative with the ball, producing a brilliant stretch of 4-0-29-4 that helped GT survive blitzes from Kyle Mayers (48 off 32) and Quinton de Kock (71 off 42) to win the match by 56 runs.
