Ghosh played a vital knock in India’s 7-wicket win over Pakistan in their opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Ghosh remained unbeaten on 31 off 20 deliveries. She along with Jemimah Rodrigues stitched up a 58-run partnership to guide India to victory.
Ghosh made her debut for India as a 16-year-old and has got quite a significant amount of taste of international cricket. The 19-year-old has already played 17 ODIs and 30 T20Is. She has scored 738 runs with two half-centuries to show for her efforts. Ghosh is riding high on confidence after she recently won the Under-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Meanwhile, Ghosh’s father Manabendra Ghosh said that he is very proud of his daughter. I am proud that she is my daughter, but I am proud of all the girls in the team. This is a journey; she was always focused on her dream. She has a goal; she has to be focused & come back after winning,” said Manabendra Ghosh after India’s victory over Pakistan.
