Cricket fans who have failed to get their tickets for the ICC World Cup 2019 matches have another opportunity as the International Cricket Council has announced the sale of final 40,000 tickets from today, Friday, 7:30 pm India time (3 pm BST).

While tickets are available for most of the World Cup 2019 games involving teams other than India, for the Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue even the first warm-up game against New Zealand at the Oval, London, tomorrow (Saturday) has been fully sold out.

The Team India fans looking for tickets for the games against Australia (June 9), New Zealand (June 13), Pakistan (June 16), England (June 30) and Sri Lanka (July 6) will now only have disappointment in store. Only a few high denomination tickets for the other matches against South Africa (June 5 – Platinum adult for £235), Afghanistan (June 22 – Platinum adult for £125); West Indies (June 27 – Platinum adult £ 195) and Bangladesh (July 2 – for Platinum £ 235, gold adult £ 150 and gold child £35) will be up for grabs as online sales start later today.

Elsewhere, only the England-Australia match, the most precious cricketing battle for the ICC World Cup hosts and defending champions, is fully sold out. But there have been few buyers for the New Zealand games. The Kiwis’ matches against Pakistan (June 1), South Africa (19 June) and West Indies (22 June) still have tickets available in all denominations. Similarly, tickets for the South Africa-West Indies (June 10), South Africa-Afghanistan (June 15), England-Afghanistan (June 18), Bangladesh-Afghanistan (June 24) and Afghanistan-West Indies (July 4) matches can still be bought in all categories.

No tickets are available for both the semi-finals and the final on July 14.

The tickets in the final round are sold on the first come, first served basis. Though tickets for most of the games involving teams other that India and the Australia-England encounter are still up for grabs, the ICC has placed the availability in the mid to low range.
