Wolves vs Liverpool: Origi scores injury-time winner as Liverpool overtake Chelsea in the title race; Jota produced one of the misses of the season – That result puts Liverpool top of the league, at least until Manchester City play later. They’ll be delighted with the manner of their victory, and the character they showed to clinch it right at the death like that. It’s another game without scoring for Wolves, however, who looked relatively solid for most of the game, but certainly didn’t show much to excite the home support.

Origi cements his position as super-sub for Liverpool, as he grabs all three points for the Reds right at the death! In truth, it looked like this game was fizzling out to a 0-0 draw, which would’ve been three on the trot for the home side. It wasn’t to be though! Origi kept his cool to fire the ball home and spares Jota’s blushes after he missed one of the easiest chances you’ll ever see earlier on in the second half. Wolves will feel hard done by to lose it like that, but bar Traore’s runs, they didn’t really show anything to trouble the Liverpool defence. Follow InsideSport.IN for more updates

Scorers: (LIV) Origi 90+4′

Liverpool leapfrogged Chelsea into the top spot after Divock Origi’s injury-time winner broke Wolves’ hearts at Molineux.

After an even first half, Diogo Jota had the best chance of the game but headed wide from close range, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah also going close. Jota then missed another glorious chance to put Liverpool ahead after capitalizing on an error from goalkeeper Jose Sá but fired his effort straight at Conor Coady who blocked on the line.

Just as time was running out, Salah broke free and crossed for Origi who swiveled and fired into the net, sparking wild scenes on the Reds bench. Everybody loves a good miss and we’ve been treated to a cracking one at Molineux this afternoon.

After Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sá came sprinting out and missed the ball, you expected the net to bulge with Diogo Jota bearing down on goal.

But the Liverpool forward opted against picking a corner, instead of blasting straight at former teammate Conor Coady who defended heroically on the line.
