Why Did Dana White Pulled Cononr McGregor Got Pulled Out From UFC PPV?

The event in question was UFC 200, which was scheduled to take place on July 9, 2016, in Las Vegas. McGregor was set to face Nate Diaz in a highly anticipated rematch of their welterweight bout at UFC 196 earlier that year. In that fight, Diaz shocked the world by submitting McGregor in the second round, handing the Irishman his first loss in the UFC.

However, McGregor’s rematch with Diaz was called off just a few months later when he refused to comply with the UFC’s promotional requirements for the event. According to White, McGregor was supposed to fly to Las Vegas to take part in a series of promotional events leading up to UFC 200, but he refused to do so.

“He refused to fly to Vegas for promotional stuff, so we pulled him off the card,” White said in an interview on ESPN’s SportsCenter. McGregor refused to participate in the promotional events due to a disagreement with the UFC over media obligations. McGregor had been asked to attend a press conference in Las Vegas to promote the event, but he claimed he was too busy training for the fight and refused to attend.

In response, the UFC pulled McGregor from the card and announced that he would not be fighting at UFC 200. McGregor responded by announcing his retirement on Twitter, but it later turned out to be a publicity stunt as he returned to the Octagon to face Diaz in a rematch at UFC 202 just a few months later.

Despite the setback, McGregor’s star power only continued to grow in the years that followed. He went on to win titles in two weight classes in the UFC and became the biggest pay-per-view draw in the sport’s history. And now everyone looks forward to his highly anticipated comeback against Michael Chandler at the end of this year.
