Among the things that can be obtained under the category of collectibles, involves the likes of Virat Kohli’s signed bat or posters. This however would obviously be in digital format. These items will definitely be licensed from Kohli and can be used in trading in different games or can be stored as digital collectible items.

Kohli’s entry into the metaverse has been brought in association with FanCraze. Regarding the trading prices of collectibles, some trading cards may often reach up to a cost of 10000 USD. Virat Kohli is, however, not the only Indian cricketer to join the Metaverse. Other of his colleagues include the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravi Ashwin, and others.

FanCraze has already listed a couple of Kohli’s moments in the marketplace. Kohli’s cover drive against Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup can be bought at a minimum price of 270 USD. As time progresses, other collectible items will be made available.

“We view marquee athletes as artists who create their art on the field of play. We are very excited to partner with Virat Kohli, one of the biggest stars cricket has ever produced, to build the new paradigm of engagement between cricketers and their fans,” said FanCraze CEO Anshum Bhambri

“You may be able to get on a Zoom call with a player whose collectibles you own, go to a nets session with them, interview them, or have access to signed merchandise.”

“We have video games where the gameplay is based on the player cards and player moments you own. So let’s say you have a Virat Kohli moment from the early part of his career, where he was predominantly a leg-side player, that’s going to be less valuable than a 2018 Kohli moment, where he was playing his cover drive and was a 360-degree player,” Bhambri concluded.
