On Friday, Kohli will take the field in Mohali for what will be his 1000th Test match, as India will clash with Sri Lanka for the first of the two-match Test series. The 33-year-old is all set to be the 12th member of an elite list of cricketers who have played 100 Test matches or more for the Indian team.
Speaking on his achievement to BCCI, the Delhi lad stated “It’s been a long journey. I have played a lot cricket over the course of these 100 Tests but never thought of playing 100 matches. I am just grateful that I have been able to play 100 Tests. I have worked really hard on my fitness. It’s a big moment for me and my family.”
