After the incident at Mestalla stadium, Vinicius took to his Instagram and wrote, “The league that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano (Ronaldo) and Messi now belongs to racists.” This sparked rumors of his transfer away from the Spanish league. However, journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Brazilian is not considering leaving Real Madrid and is ready to fight racism by staying in the Spanish Capital.

Vinicius’s current contract expires in 2024, which he signed in 2018. The expiry of the contract will allow the 22-year-old to explore his options. However, as per new Fabrizio Romano’s Tweet, a deal has been agreed upon and signed months ago.

Vinicius has been a victim of racial abuse quite often this season. A similar incident happened when Real Madrid were playing against local rivals Atletico at Civitas Metropolitan Stadium.
