The 2024 T20 World Cup is not being thought about moving from the Caribbean islands and the United States to the United Kingdom, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
In response to claims that the T20 WC 2024 will be given to England, Ireland, and Scotland as a result of administration uncertainty in the USA Cricket (USAC), both cricket organisations (ICC, ECB) made these claims separately on Friday.
“There is absolutely no truth to reports that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be moved from the West Indies and the USA,” said an ECB spokesperson. “Since the event is organized by the ICC, their statement must be taken as binding and conclusive,” they added.

With 20 nations and 55 matches, the 2024 T20 World Cup will have the greatest field size of any ICC event. It will be the championship’s ninth iteration. The ICC stated that event planning has already begun and that venue inspections have been finished.
“Venue inspections have recently been concluded in both host territories, and planning for the event in June 2024 is in full swing,” the ICC spokesperson said.
These comments were dismissed by an ICC member as wild conjecture.
“The 2024 event is scheduled for June, and the only other possible location is England. If someone were to ask the ECB if they can host in 2024, the answer would be crystal clear – they can’t. So, the possibility doesn’t even arise. Just a glance at the England venue fixtures for next year will confirm this to anyone observant enough,” stated the member.
According to reports, the hosts of the 2024 and 2030 championships could switch places, with England, Ireland, and Scotland hosting the event in 2024 and the West Indies/US seven years later. This would give the USAC time to resolve its administrative problems.
The US championship matches might be held in Florida, Dallas, and another location with no administrative involvement from USAC. US, ICC insiders claim that various creative locations are being considered for the championship’s staging in the US.
