Drake promises gifts-The 35-year-old Canadian rapper placed a double wager worth just over £1.9 million on the Scouse team to win in the octagon.McCann, 32, defeated Hannah Goldy with a dramatic spinning elbow knockout. Meanwhile, in a boisterous O2 Arena, 27-year-old Pimblett defeated Jordan Leavitt.
After deducting his ($2.3m) £2m bet, the wins netted Drake a staggering $3.7m (£3.1m) payment. The Grammy-winning music singer also displayed his prizes on his Instagram story. He tagged the cryptocurrency betting platform Stake in his Instagram image with the remark “A scousers parlay.”Drake promised to buy Rolex watches for Pimblett and McCann in a different story.
Drake, a native of Toronto who recently returned from a luxurious vacation in St. Tropez, is no stranger to high-stakes wagering, particularly on UFC. He bet $1 million (£833 thousand) earlier this month on Israel Adesanya to defeat Jared Cannonier at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. With Adesanya’s victory and those of Pimblett and McCann, the infamous “Drake Curse” may have finally come to an end.Drizzy has a history of publicly supporting athletes who go on to lose their subsequent contests.Drake bet £346k on Justin Gaethje to defeat Charles Oliveira in May, and when he lost, he was the victim of it. Drake’s massive $275k (£229k) wager on Jorge Masvidal to win his grudge bout against Colby Covington in March also affected him which he lost.
