UFC 283: Lauren Murphy vs Jessica Andrade preview
Jessica Andrade (20 – 7 – 0), a former strawweight champion ranked #6 at flyweight, will compete against Lauren Murphy (11 – 4 – 0), ranked #4. Andrade won her first gold medal in 2019 after defeating Zhang Weili and the 115-pound champion at the time, Rose Namajunas. Since then, she has moved up a weight class to add a second championship to her already impressive resume.
In September 2021, Lauren Murphy had her most recent opportunity to win the title. However, she was unsuccessful due to a TKO in round four. However, the battle did not end in her favor that evening. Her reputation grew because she showed her whole heart and tenacity in that fight. This was made more evident when, upon completing her octagon comeback in July, she defeated former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate by unanimous decision.

The physical attributes of the two ladies differ significantly, with Murphy’s strength being more rigid. Although Andrade is heavier on top and may intimidate opponents in testing clinch situations, her movement is more fluid, which results in more punching power.
The two will give each other a more challenging time in grappling situations than most of their previous opponents. Still, if Andrade can slide, weave, and blitz her way inside, she can inflict more damage on Murphy and break her down more quickly than Murphy can.
