UFC Officials close to finalizing GRUDGE MATCH Dustin Poirier vs Michael Chandler: This all started with Dustin Poirier saying that Chandler called out everybody except him in his post fight speech after beating Tony Ferguson.
Chandler responding to it by saying that he remembers what Dustin said about him upon his arrival and he doesn’t need that fight to get the title shot.
This constant back and forth finally errupted during UFC 276. Both Chandler and Poirier were present at the octagon side among the spectators, when some argument almost turned into an altercation.
However the security and other fighters managed to keep them separated and in avoiding a physical altercation.

Both fighters were constantly targetting each other in interviews and social media, which kept on igniting the bad blood and rivalry between them.
Now UFC is planning to give this rivalry a stage, so both of them can give everything they have to each other.
The Lightweight division is currently stacked with most of them having their match ups fixed. Dariush will take on Gamrot, Islam and Oliveira are ready to fight for the title. Justin is recovering from a nose surgery.
So the remaining top guys can clash as this is the only possible match up for now. Chandler vs Poirier is a high posibility and the winner can even take on winner of Islam and Oliveira for the title.
According to current rumours, Poirier vs Chandler, Masvidal vs Burns and Adesanya vs Pereira could feature on the card.
